ABOUT ME

My name is Danny Butler and I was a contestant on The Amazing Race Season 36 with my Mom. Having the opporutnity to compete and see the behind the scenes of a show I loved so much has only encouraged my love for creating games and building community through competitive adventures.

I grew up in the small town of Walla Walla Washington (the city so nice they named it twice) and then moved three hours away for college. I graduated from Whitworth University with a degree in Mathematics and Engineering Physics. However, during my time in college I fell in love with student affairs serving as an RA and went to get a masters in Higher Education.

Currently I live in San Diego California. My hobbies include puzzle design, board game nights with friends, rock climbing, and watching reality game shows. I have slowly tried to incorporate my hobbies into my job as I have devoted time into researching how escape rooms can impact a students experience in college. Between that and hosting various game shows for students on campus, I look forward to continue to provide immersive experiences in the hopes of developing critical thinking skills and community.

I am a puzzle designer, escape room enthusiast, board game nerd, and one time I was on the Price is Right. I am hoping to continue building new connections in the puzzle world. I can be found under the username ThePuzzleButler on Instagram, Twitter, and Tik Tok and would love to connect.

TWO TRUTHS AND A LIE

I couldn't have a website without an ice breaker... so enjoy figuring out which is a lie

I went to Nationals for Sewing when I was 16 and placed in the top ten for a three piece suit I designed and tailored using only fabric from Joann's.

One of my students once secretly sent in an application for me for the Bachelorette and I got a call from one of the casting producers. Their first question was if I had a six pack followed up by if I was in a relationship?

I had an acute phobia of elevators after being stuck in three. Once when I was 7, then 10, then 16. Until I was 20 I would take the stairs no matter because I did not want to die in an enclosed space.
